Len, Just finishing up 3 weeks of vacation and have spent many an afternoon lounging by the pool listening to your disc. My 9 year old son Tristan was shaking his ass to the beats in the backyard this afternoon, in fact.
This disc was a real music lesson for me..... I can see that you are not playing around at the top of the charts. Would love to know the story behind some of these tunes. Enjoying it alot . Thanks!
Had it on during a drunken 4 player game of scrabble on the weekend (man, do I know how to party!) and it worked well. I do like it, but like So, I'm very unfamiliar with this style of music (but that's the whole point of the club...). I find the repetative rythms in many of the songs hard to listen to for long periods of time, but I think I need to get more exposure to this style of music(latin/african/jazz/funk??)to fully appreciate it. The first and last tracks are my favorites. I wouldn't mind a bit more background info on the disk as well Len.
I really love this CD, finally got my hands on it last week and have listened to it several times. I like the repetitive beats and the percussive nature of it. I will definitely pursue this further.
I am hoping that this Blog will help to keep everyone informed, entertained and generally connected on a regular basis with our exchange group. I understand that this may not add anything to the experience and having never done anything like this before, I don't know what to expect. let's see what happens!
